About this Specialization

CFI’s Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA)® Certification is the bridge between where you are now and where you want to be – from a beginner to an experienced world-class financial analyst with the confidence, and skills to match.

The FMVA program is focused on financial modeling and valuation skills that are required for corporate finance careers such as investment banking, equity research, private equity, and corporate development with real-time industry-related case studies (such as Start-up, E-commerce, Real Estate, Mining & solar energy). You can earn your FMVA™ Certificate in as little as six months, learning from the world’s best instructors, and hitting “peak condition” for career advancement in a fraction of the time.

Graduation Requirements

To be granted the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA)® credential, students must:

Complete all core and elective courses (13 in total) and demonstrate mastery of the topics through completion of course materials, quizzes, and assessments

Earn a minimum passing grade of 80% in each course assessment and pass the FMVA final exam.

There are no specific eligibility requirements for candidates who want to pursue the CFI program. All candidates are eligible for registration and participation regardless of their background and level of experience. Despite this, it is understood that certification applicants are in the professional domain of finance or are pursuing an academic qualification in the same area of study.

Yes! You can download and edit the Excel models and templates included in your courses. Please note that the video lectures can be accessed from any device with an internet connection, but cannot be downloaded.

You will have lifetime access to the courses and all future upgrades. You can rewatch the video lessons as many times as you like and complete the courses at a pace that is convenient for you.

We recommend about 120-200 hours to complete the full financial analyst training. The FMVA® program is flexible and allows you to study at your own pace. 6 months is the average completion time.

CFI is also a recognized continuing education provider by the CPA Institutions in Canada and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) for CPE credits.

No! The program tuition includes everything and there are no additional fees required to earn your digital certification.

Yes, you can pick and choose individual courses based on your needs and earn certificates of course completion.

Students are required to complete an online qualified assessment at the end of each course. You can take the exams at your own schedule and will need to earn at least 80% to pass the course and earn your certificate of course completion. Please note that exams can be repeated as many times as you need. Students are also required to complete the FMVA final exam after taking all required courses. You will have 3 hours to take the exam and will need to earn at least 70% to pass the assessment. You can try again after 1 month if you do not pass the first time. After successfully completing the FMVA program requirements (9 required, 3 elective courses, and the FMVA final exam), the FMVA certification will be emailed to you within 3-4 business days.

You need to complete all the video lessons, quizzes and final assessments in each course to earn your certificate. You can retake the assessments as many times as necessary until you reach an 80% passing grade. To earn your FMVA certificate, you need to complete the FMVA program requirements (9 required, 3 elective courses, and FMVA final exam) to earn the program certificate.
